As I was pondering over the past few weeks this photo came to mind!
I didn't take it so its linked to give credit to who did, at the website linked to the photo, there are other beautiful photos at this cite worth checking out!! It is a gargoyle from the Cathedral Notre Dame, in Paris, France! I've been there and it was absolutely breath taking. Click on the photo to see more photos of the Cathedral!:)
Reflecting on week five:
During week five I enjoyed the classroom discussion over the reading that we did online. Although, we are reviewing online it is nice to get the class talking about what our thoughts and feelings are about the topics. In addition, we did an eye opener that was truly eye opening. I specifically choose to learn, and then speak about pesticides and how there use affects the environment and ultimately all of us! We also watched the movie "Feeding the World" this movie summarized the ways in which he different choices of food affect the animals that they come from, the people who eat them, and the environments in which they are made. The film really made a person contemplate the daily choices we make involving our food consumption. It was almost scary to think about the way we consume meat in comparison to other countries?
Pondering on week six:
Week six went so fast, honestly where did it go! Well we started off the week commenting on the reviews of the video and then moved into our individual reviews of the assigned reading, with this review I learned A LOT! I had never before even heard about invasive biological species, let alone researched and studied about them in order to provide a review for a group of people! Next, we began to view the video "Furture of Food" which honestly was upsetting and made me feel so bad for that little old couple from Canada. Next, yikes what is really in our food? Does anybody know... and Mansanto after viewing the film, don't get me started!
Get into my head with more of my thoughts:
In additon, over the past two weeks I have grown again in my blogging ablities by passing on my first blog award and trying to get my signature to appear (I am still working on that one;) ) I have also done alot of thinking, I catch myself honestly thinking greener, really I DO! I find myself thinking huh, how could that be greener, or could that be recycled, and I've taken on a new habbit of googling and Youtubing green stuff, green articles, green green green... I will be whole heartedly honest when I say the class is rubbing of on my lifestyle!:)
Have a great weekend everybody!:)
Abbey-
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you are thinking greener! This class is definitely changing the way I view things and my lifestyle as well. I hope these next two weeks are filled with just as much information as weeks 5 & 6, because I learned A LOT! P.S. I like the picture on top!
Abby, that picture is what I look like when I'm trying to recollect the last two weeks for these reflections=)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you in that I am thinking greener, with everything. Feels good though=)
Keep on, keepin' on=) See ya Tuesday.

Hey Abbey!
ReplyDeleteThat gargoyle is awesome! It's really awesome to hear that you learned so much these last 2 weeks. Invasive biological species...who thinks about that issue? Especially community health students, right? lol. Yeah, don't get me started with Monsanto either...what a bunch of egotistical #@%! For one, It's ridiculous to patent nature...but to file a lawsuit against innocent farmers for something they didn't even do?! And literally ruin their lives?? Pure evil if you ask me. Well it's awesome that you're a much greener person because of the class...I think it's rubbing off on everyone, but some more than others. I enjoyed your post Abbey! Seeya tomorrow =P
Abbey- I think Environmental has gotten everyone to think a little greener! Its great to actually see what people have been learning in this class! I agree with you on the Monsanto thing...thats crazy! I have realized by taking this class that Money is always the top priority in our country...so sad! Great post Abbey!
ReplyDeleteAbbey- Thank you for your wholehearted honesty! Haha, this post had so much personality in it. I totally agree with you about this class causing us to think greener. I am surprised to see how much I have personally changed as well!
ReplyDeleteFor week five, as much as I hated the idea of all of us reading a bunch of different articles and comment on them-- I liked it WAAAYY more than commenting on posts reviewing the same article by numerous people. I found that experience to be eye-opening as well as you did.
